Day 1: Seek Him Early
Seek Him Early:
Lamentations 3:22-24 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion.” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
Psalm 59:16 “...I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.
When you have a great need or a great calling, or a great opportunity, you rise early to meet it. What we do first thing in the morning, over time, says a lot about our true priorities. For the most part, our energy is highest and best in the morning. Once we are fully awake, we can focus and prioritize the tasks for the day ahead. Before the sun comes up, God's quiet voice always seems a little louder!
How different would your prayer life be if you set your clock 15-30 minutes earlier? Or maybe you don’t pick up your phone to scroll and instead find a quiet place to listen and pray? How would your thoughts and attitudes throughout the rest of the day be changed if you dedicated your mornings to praying and reading God’s Word and asking God to change your heart through it? How you finish is often determined by how you start. Decide now to start early with Jesus.
Prayer: Our Most Kind and Gracious Heavenly Father, please pardon and forgive me of my many sins and give me a thankful heart for each and every blessing. Father, I ask that You give me a renewed desire to search Your Word and Your heart, to know You more and more each day. I pray that every day of my life, starting today (because Your mercies are new every morning) that You will guide my steps and keep my eyes focused solely on You. In Jesus’ name, AMEN
